10 Years of Community

Back in 2013, I contributed to a Kickstarter campaign. My friends Candace & Michael hosted a beer tasting party at their house where Jay Jubeck shared some home-brewed beer, and introduced the idea of a CSB — Community Supported Brewery.

The idea was pretty simple, but at the same time totally new for Dubuque: people who wanted to contribute to building a community-centered gathering space for craft beer enthusiasts could buy into a “share” of the brewery to help with some of the up-front costs. In exchange, your membership entitled you to different perks, like merch, growler fills, or pints of beer each month.

The Kickstarter got funded (and then some!) and in 2014 they opened the doors of Jubeck New World Brewing — Dubuque’s first nano brewery. I’m proud to say I was member #27! I still have my mug!

This Saturday, you can help them celebrate 10 years of being a craft beer institution. Join us outside the brewery from 3:00-10:00PM for music, food, special beer releases, family activities and more!
